Reversible reactions and equilibrium

What this model shows

The waits are shortened: a few minutes in a water bath take about 10 seconds here.

The colours are worked out from the share of the blue form, a simple model: in real tubes the exact shade depends on how much acid is in the solution. The magnifier’s particles are a model, drawn much larger and slower than real ones.

Cobalt(II) chloride is toxic and concentrated hydrochloric acid is corrosive. In school this is a demonstration by your teacher, with gloves and eye protection.

With reduced motion, each step finishes at once.
