Exercise and heart health

What this model shows

The heart rates are typical values for one healthy teenage volunteer, not a fitness standard: resting 72 beats per minute and about 150 at the end of three minutes of stepping; after eight weeks of training 64 and about 130.

Your resting count runs in real time: 15 seconds. The rest is sped up: the three minutes of stepping take about 15 seconds, the counts after the stepping run faster than real time, and the volunteer is drawn taking fewer steps than a real test.

The sensor gives the heart rate every few seconds; a count by hand gives the average over the time of the count, so the two differ a little.

With reduced motion each process is shown at its start and its end, and the pulse at the wrist shows as a ring that appears at each beat.

Select a piece of equipment or a part of the body to read about it in the card.
